Kansas fields

Silent Kansas fields
An old farmhouse,
Broken windows, roof fallen in.
Gray skies and quiet rain,
Blue beams of a metal bridge
Dark river that flows.
The tree has a stark profile
Winter a pale face,
Branches are black against empty sky.
